Usefilm.com is back with a new name, imageopolis.com.

I'm hoping they can start a resource page for film photographers, compiling the most reliable labs in the country for b/w and color film processing photography, etc.

I wonder if Al is still involved with the site.. I used to be friends (and still am) with many a Usefilm member back in the early 2000's.

Cheers,
Dave

Hmm... from their FAQ members are free to upload both digital and film images, how are they different than other websites, not so clear to me.

And what is up with the website, it looks outdated and non-polished at all.

The site is from the early 2000's - I was a member (and still am) during my early return to photography in 1998/99.

They did offer some really unique features through their chat and forums at the time. I learned quite a bit and still hold many of the people there as friends.

That said, the previous owner (Al) hasn't done anything with the site and the new owner (Phil) may be just getting his feet wet before adjusting things. The design/layout/etc. are identical to when it disappeared some time ago. It WAS unique prior to the emergence of sites such as this one or even Flickr (Usefilm predates Flickr by a number of years if memory serves correctly).

Cheers,
Dave
