I have just received my R3M from Robert White, I truly is a fabulous looking camera and I can't wait until tomorrow to get out and try it out!...This got me wondering, as these are limited edition cameras, how many of you will be using your R2M / R3M and how many of you will be keeping it Minty?

my R3M will be on its way to me this Tuesday (or as soon as Stephen gets my paypal), and i can't wait to use it- my first RF. It'll be going with me up to NYC on Labor Day weekend, and i'll be shooting with the 40/Nokton.

It's great to see not a single person is considering shrink-wrapping it and storing it in their freezer.😱

The R3M is nice to hold and operate, the controls operate well and the camera feels, 'well made'. This is my first modern Voigtlander, the rest are all pre 1970. And I like it at lot. I don't think it will unseat my M3 as mt favourite user yet, the longer rangefinder base and viewfinder make the M3 slightly more enjoyable to use but I might add the Heliar f2 to my M kit. Lets see what the first shot come out like.

anyone who has both the RxA and RxM care to comment on shutter noise? Any difference?

Sam...you an give me your R2A as a sacrifice for the forum...I will have a backup for my new R2m...and I promise I will post the results from the test too. What do you think?

This might be kind of close: I've got a ZI. Shutter's probably much like an RxA. I just got an R3M a few days ago. Besides raving about the R3M in a separate thread, I did make a point of comparing the ZI shutter noise with the R3M. My qualitative sense was that total noise had the same amplitude. The ZI noise was "rounder" to get to that amplitude while the R3M was "sharper" to get to that same amplitude.

I now have a ZI, which i HEARD has the same shutter noise as the R*M. I did have a R3A, the shutter ws considerably louder than the ZI.

just my 2 cents.

Mike
