I saw a nice looking 1f and might buy it to shoot my wide LTM lenses. Interesting that there is no rangefinder window--are these scale focus only cameras? Any place on the 'net that has some history about these cameras? Anyone using one and would care to share experience?

Bill, they are fun. I use a 28/35 minifinder and a 28mm lens and scale focus. The only problem is that the thing is too pristine, I'm almost afraid to use it.

Bill, I use a Model 1, which only has the 50mm VF, no RF.

Great fun - especially with a 25mm lens. Really good for close-up street stuff and no need to worry about focus if you use hyperfocal settings:-

A handsome camera, I would love to add one to my collection. I sometimes think that we get to obsessive about rangefinding focus, just look at all those great pictures taken by the old fixed focus cameras.

They're terrific cameras. Nice handling, very pleasant shutter acoustics, and for some reason the prices have dropped on them over the last year.

I decided to buy the 1F I saw. Tiny little thing. And so fun to load film into!

I posted a pic in the "Show off your Leica I/II/III LTM" thread.
