Just to muddy the waters, there are other options. One is the Voightlander 35mm plastic finder. It's rounded corners but rectangular and a bit lower profile than the clyndrical one. Zeiss has a 35 new metal brightline finder and there's one I've never seen but have been told on this forum gives 35 equivalent - an Olympus VF 1. Used it's well under $100.

Erik, That black SBLOO is a dream. I had been looking for one for years & never came across one. That is one beautiful piece!
As far as the plastic finders go, I've always leaned towards something that works well but also looks approximately period correct.

My number one priority is to have a finder that I can use with my glasses on. The Leica plastic 35mm and 28mm finders have the same optics (but the frame lines are different) and I can use both with my glasses on. I don't know if other finders would also be OK. 35mm seems to be the limit: I have not found a 50mm finder I can use with my glasses on, I have to attach a dioptric correction lens and then of course I also have to add a correction lens to the camera eyepiece.

jcb, I also shoot with glasses on (always have). The Voigtlander 35 metal finder does check the boxes in that regard

As another eyeglass wearer, I get on okay with the metal Voigtlander 35 finder too. It's not perfect as one side or the other is just barely out of view unless I put the finder onto the surface of my glasses' lens (which I try not to do to avoid scratches). If I need to be "precise" about both side edges, I do have to do a little side-to-side move to check both sides, but usually I don't bother as I frame fairly loosely. So the Voigtlander is useable enough that I haven't bothered trying other finders.

It's such a personal thing, whether an eyepiece or viewfinder works for a glasses wearer, that I think you have made the key point, Kevin: once you get something that works, you stick with it and don't bother with other finders. I tried the Voigtlander plastic 35mm finder (the one with rounded edges). The view was OK but the whole optical unit is a slight negative lens. My eyes have almost no accommodation these days and I found I had to use a +1 dioptre correction lens to be able to see clearly. I could not see how to attach the correction lens so that was the end of that. I then tried the Leica finder and found I could see clearly. In terms of field of view both finders were about the same (I also sometimes have to a little side-to-side movement) but only the Leica finder was useable by me...and once I got a finder that worked I haven't bothered to look elsewhere.
