Hi,

I am still climbing the learning curve regarding Leica equipment and I appreciate the insights and knowledge of the experts in this forum.

I have an M3 and I also have a 35mm Summaron f/3.5 fitted with goggles. Of course, the goggles can be removed from the lens. Accordingly, I was wondering if that lens can be used without the goggles on an M2 or M6? In other words, are the goggles only necessary for use on the M3?

Thanks in advance,
Danny

Thanks, all, for your quick responses - much appreciated! Looks like I'd need a different 35mm lens if I pick-up another M-body.

Best,
Danny

I was one who actually removed goggles from Summaron 35 3.5 to actually see what happens.
And what happens is, you can't just focus it without goggles. Mechanically.
Lens needs to be modified (well, more like vandalized).
Don't go this stupid. In classic Leica VF (M2-M4) framing 35 lens in 50 frames is the blessing. I enjoyed it on M4-2, it just the lens itself is nothing special...

Thanks for your response.

If you mounted this successfully on an M4-P does that mean it would also work (with goggles) on an M6? I have heard the M6 described an an M4-P with a meter.

Thanks,
Danny

mount need modifying to bring up 35 mm lines if possible. Will be scale focus without eyes no mater how you use it.

Use as switch the eyes
