I an old issue of B&W Photography magzine I found a test of a 75mm f/2 Summicron. There was a pic of a Bessa with a viewfinder magnifier atached. How incovinient is this to use and how accurate is it whan shooting faster 75 and 90 mm lenses?
Kind regards
Søren

Dear Soeren,

Did you notice who wrote it?

The answers are, 'not very convenient' and 'slightly better than with no magnifier'. A camera with a longer RF base is easier. The Nikon F magnifier has the same thread as the eyepiece lens.

Cheers,

R.

I can shoot the 75mm Summilux with acceptable accuracy on the R-D1 when I use the 1.3x magnifier available from Megaperls. It also fits the Bessas and the Zeiss Ikon, as well as the Nikon F and digital bodies.

Eh no should I? 🙂 ....... Yes I noticed. It was either you or (more likely) Frances. and it was in a test review of a Leica 75mm f/2.0.

The Nikon Eyepiece magnifier was mentioned and that was what triggered my OP. I am ofcource still figuring out whether it would work ok with a R2M since that would probably be my first RF ( I will get that M later)
Kind regards

Dear Soeren,

I'm pretty sure it's the same thread. But really, I wouldn't bother if I were you. Or if you do, use a separate finder for composition. At which point you'd be better off with a Bessa-T (which Frances loves).

Cheers,

R.
