Using Leica older LTM and M lenses on Canon Mirrorless Cameras

I have the correct adapter-it all fits and looks great through the viewfinder, but neither my R! or R3 will fire. I'm sure it's because there is no electrical connection from the lens. Am I missing a menu item that would allow the lens to fire w/o a lens?
 
There is an option in the menu system that says something like "release shutter without lens". Should take care of the issue
