Does anyone have experience? I saw on ebay some products enabling to use 52mm filters on the camera. Does that negative affect the autofocus? Does a polarizing filter work with sigma dp?
gho
Well-known
The optional lens hood seems to be mandatory. It has a 46mm filter thread. I used polarizing filters, no problem with auto focus in good light. Anyhow, auto focus is really slow. If you like quick snap shots, using the manual focus and having the aperture stopped down (hyperfocal distance) works quite ok in good light , but there is still some slight shutter lag.
The DP1s seems to feature also something like a green cast similar to vignetting in certain situations, like photographing a white wall in dim light. However, I have only seen that once yet.
Edit: But, if you know the limitation and know where this camera shines, it should be able to produce quite pleasing results. It should work quite well in connection with a tripod, but what is lacking for this kind of work are movements and there is also some very slight barrel distortion.
