Hi RFF,
I recently had good results using the new classified section to sell a Leica CL I was stuck with. I placed the ad right after the new classified section opened. During the 2 weeks the ad was present, I got 5 or 6 replies out of almost 500 views, mostly serious inquiries, and sold the camera at asking price.
I think it is a great option to sell equipment in the new classified.
I was thinking that all eligible members and especially the Sponsers should try it, in case of the sponsers, I suggest listing surplus, returns or open box items that are just sitting around...may be some of the Sponsers can put up some items to be auctioned.
Hey its free(unlike Ebay), whats to lose?

This would be great if our sponsors can list some surplus in the new classified

I Need some of the serial posters here 😱 come on guys, you know who you are!! This is the perfect op.
Who's up to neck in Nikkors? Someone must have a Bessa to auction-off!!

Kiu,

The "established culture" here has made it clear that they do not like or want auctions. I wish it were otherwise but that's the way it is.

That's one reason why I won't list here. I do not know what the "going price" is for much of my "surplus" gear and if I put it up for auction. then I'm a "bad guy".

Better I use eBay.

Jorge pays too much attention...and he cares too much
I am talking about the Facts here.
If nobody wants to bid....Hey I am all for that....but I like to see Stephen auction-Off an open box R2s NHS edition!!!
Or luigi sell something he is got sitting.....AHHHHHH You guys don't get it.

Kiu,

Look at the stars - look at the stars!

You me, yes.

Others, no.

And it Stephen has an open box R2S - well - he knows something .... 😀

I used the old classifieds earlier tonight simply because I couldn't figure out how to do a single posting with a number of small items. I've got about a dozen things that I'd like to sell none of which are more than $30; why should I go to the extra hassle of the new multistep system?

Not trying to be a PITA, but I really do not see an advantage for me.

And as far as it goes, there's nothing in the pile worth an auction, either... 🙁

OK you're Excused!
But on a different note, how opinionated can we be?
the Admin and Big Cheese decides that his site should have ... and all serial posters can say is 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁
Hey, I dont question the big cheese......ahhhhhhhhh I want an R2c NHS auctioned.

The going price is pretty easy to figure out, it's what ever you paid for it. The idea is that you're just passing on surplus kit to whomever wants to use it now. It's the desire to reap the maximum profit from your fellow members that makes you the bad guy, at least in the opinion of the established order.

Hope this helps.

If that were the case. I'm sure this is not meant to imply it is, with respect to anyone posting in this thread.

It's wonderful we have so much choice; new rff classifieds, old rff for sale forum, ebay, and several other options. Use them as you see fit. Or not.

OK Folks,
This is the last warning, better start putting some ads in the classified or I am going to flood the place with lots of stuff you guys don't wanna see 😡

If I could part with my big guns right now, I would, trust me, NIKON KIU. I have been tempted many times, with both selling and buying (buying mostly, like Jorge's chromaliscious Summicron out there right now...can't, though).

It'll catch up, I'm sure. Just give it time. Rome wasn't built in one day.

people will come to be more comfortable with the new classifieds section in time and i think the plan to close down the old section eventually.
time & patience can be wonderfu,l things...

especially from people who generally shoot with 50 year old equipment!!

🙂

I was kidding when I said I was gonna flood the classifieds.
But I tell you a secret...I listed My F2s today and I have had 54 views already...not bad for an OT item. People are missing out...oh well.
