v3 summicron aperture ring

Am I the only one who hates the aperture ring on this lens? Perhaps it's the 12504 hood, but sometimes it's a pain to access it. It seems foolish to sell it and spend an extra grand for a 35 v4 when I can tell no difference in image quality whatsoever. Has anyone used a v4 square hood with the 35 v3? If so, does it help?

- the rectangular hood 12524/12526 for 35mm has a tab to keep it in good orientation on version Summicron 35mm IV or Asph.
- mounting on Cron version II/III this tab would not allow clipping
(on one 12524, I've cut the small tab and it's ok)
- but the hood without the tab tend to turn, in this case a rubber band around the groove may keep it oriented

As side note, the recessed front lens of Cron III, in my regular use (not in rain or sea side) It rarely needs a hood.

Construction of V3 is superior. V4 is glued together and there used to be many threads on glue breaking. Frequently the V4 hood was crooked due to misalignment during gluing.

Should you go V4 route, mount and dismount by using the knurling next to the mount flange so as not to stress the glue.

I am sorry I traded my v3 for v4. My shade is fine and image quality very good.
It lives on my M8 with UV/IR filter. The asph is used on all other M cameras.
