value of Elmarit-M 28mm v1

With all of the 28mm Elmarit variations out there it's hard for one to know what one is worth compared to another.

I picked up a v1 lens the other day for what I think was a screaming deal but it's hard to know for sure.

eBay as a couple of the v1 lenses on sale in the $3000 range. Hard to believe anyone would pay that.

What is the reasonable sell-it-tomorrow valuation of an 28mm Elmarit-M v1 lens (conservatively in 8.5 condition w/clear glass), with hood, caps, and Leica lens bag?

No idea about a V1 but I just lucked out on an absolutely mint V3 (box shade caps) for 1.2K. Given that the V1 is supposed to be optically inferior (according to Mr. Putz and others) - can't see why a V1 (unless collector quality) would be worth nearly 3x as much.

I have a friend who bought one online on some forum for $750 with hood in what he said was great condition. I have seen them sell for the $700-1000 range before, along with the v2.
