Vancouver/Fred herzog questions

Folks who know Vancouver and who know Fred Herzog's pictures from his two books and many exhibits -- here's a question:

Malcolm Lowry, British poet and writer, spent a lot of his life in the late thirties in a fishing shack in Dollarton, BC, which seems to have been along the Dollarton highway just across the water from today's downtown Vancouver. Stories like "October Ferry to Gabriola" and "The Forest Path to the Spring," collected in "Hear Us, O Lord..." make that area sound like a fascinating place and time. Does the area across the river show up in any of Fred's pictures?

As far as I can see, North Vancouver shows up occasionally as a backdrop in his photos of train tracks, ships, and buildings along the Vancouver waterfront. He did his shooting mainly downtown.

Dollarton and the mud flats where Lowry lived are to the east of the Second Narrows Bridge - well east of downtown Vancouver. On the opposite (south) shore of the Burrard Inlet in that area there are train tracks and little else, then or now. The inlet is narrow at that point and the currents strong, the shore is a steep slope... so it would be difficult to build anything there.

If I recall correctly the shacks in the mud flats were removed by the city in the early 70's. At that point it was a thriving hippy community which doubtless offended the sensibilities of the city officials. I had classmates who would visit the mudflats to photograph the people living there and the shacks. It looked pretty idyllic.
