variable color filter(R-Y)

I recieved free filters from sleepyhead on the forum(thanks,sleepyhead!).

It's a polarizer\vario color R-Y combo.

Together they work,well,as a polarizer\vario color R-Y combo but by itself the variable color R-Y filter is just brownish. Am I getting something wrong?
