VC Bessa R2 not in production?

Tim, I was so badly afflicted with Voigtlander mania that I have 3 R2 in my collection and 4 different 35mm Voigtlander lenses! What was I thinking! 🙁

Do you think you can donate one of your R2 to this poor guy named Kris so he can sell 2 R2s and 50/1.5 to finance the coming C/V body? Please?

Aperture priority alone doesn't sell to me though. Cosina really needs to make longer RF baselength. Furthermore, why did they remove self timer when upgrading from R to R2?! I want the self timer to be back!

I'm with Kris, AE alone won't do it for me, but AE and a longer baselength finder will be very hard to stay away from.

A longer baselength and a better viewfinder (less distortion and a better rf patch, my R2 tends to black out from certain angles) might make me consider one as second camera instead of the R2 sometime in the future. AE doesn't matter much, but a quieter shutter would be nice.

Kris, you have a great sense of humour! Did you not know that R2 is becoming a collector's item here in Singapore? 🙂 It is something of an investment for me and I love using it so much you would have to pry it from my cold dead fingers! I am not that interested in the R3 but I am eager to find out what other new toys that Cosina has made for us! 🙂

I'll just keep an eye out on that new R3. I'm happy with my L & R and their LTM threads, but the CL has shown me the enormous convenience of the M bayonet.

If all goes as planned I'l have the M2 back sometime next week, and the new leather should arrive soon too.

I can witness the revelations at Photokina, just before I'll be on holiday, but my funds will be severally depleted. That new R3 really has to be a major improvement over the R2 or M2, and not too dear, before I'll consider buying one.
