Wow, when did the price of Velvia for 35mm go up? Where was I!
I'm looking at BHPhoto for Velvia and see the price is near $11 for a roll. Check Freestyle and they have similar prices. I have one more roll in a camera and no more 35mm film. I have plenty of 120. Might have to trade some
I've been scanning some slides from 2007 when I shot a lot of Velvia in Montana in Glacier National Park and at the Native American Indian Days NAID in Browning MT. I love the stuff.

Slide film is like this guys. Rare, vivid and passing.

Finally at home...
Another sign that film photography is moving into its niche.
Apart from a few types of negative film (such as Agfa Vista 200) or b/w film (Kentmere and some minor brands), the rolls have become really expensive.

This is why I backed Ferrania - not that I expect them to make a Velvia clone, but hopefully to bring a little competition and show there's a small, but real pent up demand for more affordable slide film.
But when I look at how nice velva 100 is, i still buy it - just not as much :-(

yep, rub it in
I checked and I bought 5 rolls last year so I guess I wasn't paying much attention to the cost or I didn't care.
I have 200 rolls of B&W, and lots of 120 ( 15 rolls of Velvia ), but my slide film for 35 is out of stock.

Fuji Velvia 50 or Provia 400X (the last rolls) in 135-36 are close to Eur. 15,00 (just over US$16) here (Europe). And the next price increase from Fuji next month has to come ....
The cheapest E-6 films in 135-36 is the Rollei Digibase CR200 around Eur. 5,-. Old type Agfa RSX II 200 emulsion.

Buy as much as you can.
I don't bother with it in small format but I amassed about 200 sheets of 4x5 that I'm slowly going through when appropriate. Some 120 left as well.

Paid 15 euro for a roll of Provia 100F 36 exp a month or 2 ago. Got a nice stock of Velvia 400X 120 in the fridge. But when I see how nice Provia 100 scans I want more of it.
Same for me. Hope they come online soon.

Saw a 100ft roll of Velvia on ebay. How many 36 exposure rolls in a 100ft roll?

It depends how many frames you put into each film catridge. I get about eighteen-twenty 36exp rolls out of a 100ft roll.

You guys are lucky. We pay AUD$33-$36 (USD$23-25) for Velvia 36exp rolls in Australia!

In the md 90's I had a fashion account that I shot almost weekly. I shot 120 Provia mostly and bought 300-500 rolls a month at roughly $3.25 a roll. Wish it was this cheap again.
In the catalog season when I shot large format a lot of it was 8x10 and 4x5 with a little 11x14 mixed in. In the course of an average catalog I shot around 250 sheets of 8x10 and close to that in 4x5. Most of what I shot in sheets was Kodak and I think it was well under $100 for a box of 50 8x10 sheets.
Those days are gone.

$11/roll for 35mm Velvia 50 works out to $0.30 per shot. If you get 10 quality shots per roll (not uncommon), that's $1.10/frame.
That might be expensive, relative to what it use to cost. But I'm of the opinion that my photographs are worth at least $0.90/shot, so $1.10 isn't too bad.
