Velvia look from RAW images?

this guy's works at flickr looks like velvia. they are not oversaturated nor HDR. but definitely something's wrong with colour

yeah)) but what if there is no chance to process velvia? how do you get it with m8 or r-d1? any thoughts?

I suspect that this photographer got into processing his digital/digitized pictures in the Lab color space using a powerful image editor such as Photoshop or the Gimp. This can produce such supersaturated imagery with strong color contrasts.

Not for all of them. Some of the pictures seem to originate from an M8.2.

I think you can get some of the way there with simple tweaks: +1 saturation, then bring in both ends of the histogram until you have placed the white and black points inside the range of recorded data - thus clip the both the lights and darks. This will also accentuate any vignetting from the lens.

Personally I think Moan's images go too far. Either way they look like a product of saturation (film or digital), a noctilux, frequent backlighting, and the above tweaks (or a plugin that automates them).

I think the emulation stuff does a better job than most folks are willing to admit. -Faster than PS'ing the stuff, and I imagine their developers did a lot more testing and tweaking before they put it out to market than you can do. It's done professionally. Costs a bit, though. But if you want that look...
