Hello,

there's a Summicron 35/2 version III on the bay that looks very good imho and I'd like to go for it.

Price is - at the moment - 420 $. Description says very good condition, serial starting with 282 and the round hood is with it. Is it a good price?

What to say about the Cron 35/2 Vers. III in general (sharpness, bokeh, handling, quality) ?

Quick, please, just one hour left.

Hello,
I am also interested about the Cron 35 v2 or v3.

Do you have some pictures taken wide open to show its sharpness and its bokeh ?

Thanks and regards.

I just went to Flickr and there are 330 shots done under the tag "Leica Summicron 35mm f2.0 III".
I have the 3rd version and in many way I like it better than my IV S-cron. It is sharp, small and medium contrast - what else do you need. It does need a hood as sun reflecting of the front element will induce flare.

Well, the version IV is the "king of bokeh," and everyone with an internet connection knows it! They also "know" that the German-made versions are much, much better than the junk made in Canada. How did we all survive without the internet!? 😉😀

Junk? Excuse me?
Looks like you are quite the snob

florian i dont know how much money you have for that - but there is biogon for 675$ on classifieds. as i read in your j12 post you want more blurred background for portrait type of shots - i think then ultron is solution for you(f1.7 and nice bokeh) - also it can be found cheaper than other 35mm...

The compact size is also it's weakness. Aperture ring is very close to focus ring and hood, any attempt to change aperture will very likely change focus or rotate hood. I think the v4 has improved it with "ears" or "wings" ala Summilux 35, but I've never used those, so it's just my guess. Field flatness is not so good, at f/2 and f/2.8 you can see fuzzy corners. It has a rough look in out of focus areas and "heavy" colour rendering, both of which I like.

Well, at the moment I would be able to spend those 400 € for a Nokton. But then there's the Cron-wish lurking around. 😀
So I'll most probably wait and save more money for it. On the other hand it hurts to spend so much on a lens.

And again on the other hand the J-12 is quite good, too. But misses the one apperture value to wide open shots at f2.
