in the next days i'll buy a second hand epson r-d1s. i'm in photography for some time now but i never used a digital rangefinder. so, i've got some questions:
the owner tells me that he shots aproximatively 15.000 frames from the day he bought the camera. is there any way in wich i can verify this? is this number too big for this kind of camera?
what other issues i must consider when i'll inspect the camera?

thanks in advance for your time.

Unfortunately, no. The frame number in the file name goes only up to 9999, so it could be 5000, 15000 or 25000... There is no embedded counter in the EXIF data.

I am not too sure about this, but I would say that it should be OK. In all the threads about the problems encountered with the R-D1(s), I never heard of a complete shutter death.

There is a quite frequent shutter problem that can be fixed by Steve's Camera Service. Mine did have it for a while, the shutter was blocked more than half of the time, but the problem dissapeared from itself after a few days. This was more than one year and 5000 pictures ago.

You should check that the rangefinder is properly aligned at infinity, and that it is vertically aligned. It is not so difficult to fix it yourself, but it is always better if you don't need to do it.

Check if the LCD and the needle gauges work properly. If you want, you can also take an underexposed picture at 1600 ISO and check if there are dead pixels on a computer screen (they can normally be corrected using a menu function). You can also check if the flash hotshoe works.

Otherwise, the camera is so straightforward that I can't think of anything that could not be working properly.
