Hey,
I just scored, among other much better old gems, a Exa Jhagee Dresdon [evil] SLR from the father in law... Inside was a shot roll of Kodak Panatomic-X, 32 ASA. Should I bother taking it into the local shop for developing? No one knows it's age. Old. I guess I know that much.

...on second inspection of the canister, it's got the (exucse a terinology failure here) metal contact stuff for ASA identification by newer cameras... maybe it is a go.

Anyway, discuss, I guess.

Yeah, that's kind of where I'm leaning - Plus I'm needing to give the local shop some patronage. Their prices just can't compete in regards to gear with those of internet.

I save (word used liberally) money, but feel guilty by not shopping there. I go in there and tire kick, then buy elsewhere. I'm a jerk.

I'm always curious to see what's on old found rolls of film. Usually I'm disappointed, but sometimes very surprised. I say 'do it'!

I did that once. the results was quite ok, and indeed, old family stuff...

Is it B&W?
If it is, I would advise to add 50% on the processing time to compensate for the loss of contrast.

I got some 30-40 year old family photos that way from an old Kodak tlr. They are really neat shots, but I would not blame you if you just threw out your film.
