very preocupying vignetting.

Hello, can you help me on something?
i just got a few rolls back from the lab. They developed and scanned them. These were shot with a Leica CL+summicron 40. They all exibit a very preocupying kind of fake vignette. Do you think there might be something wrong with the camera? The scanning is horrible, and i think that may be the problem, but in any case take a look please:

The reason why I'm not too much worried right now is because After these rolls I already shot a couple more with the same camera/lens and they turned out ok, like in this shot:

Should i complain to the lab? or do you think there might be something wrong with my precious CL ?

Btw, I have no clue, never seen this before, very odd, Leica CL and 40mm Summicron is as good as anyone needs really.

Thanks Moriturii, don't know why the images didn't show up. I'm really convinced that this is a scanning problem, because even if we exclude the stupid vignette, the image quality is really horrible.

And yes, the CL is a pearl

Do you see these odd white halo on the negatives themselves? If not, it's scanning issue, if you can see on the negs, I don't know.

no I can't see them in the negatives!
I checked them, but i have little experience working directly with negatives, (something i want to change in the near future), i didn't know if the halos might still be there even if i couldn't see them in naked eye. But i dont see them.

Definitely the scanner. Is it mostly happening with dark shots? Those auto scanners sometimes have trouble with thin negs.

just try to get hold of a film scanner and scan them yourself

I recently purchased a CL. I'll prolly sell it again cos my hands are too big, but it's metering is awesome. 36 of 37 frames on slide exposed correctly
(I'm going to keep the cron 40 tho :-D )

the effect is huge on dark shots, but also happens in daily light ones. But yes, the biggest disasters happen in low light shots.

Are you using the rubber hood on the Summicron? If so, check that the five-digit number that's molded into it is 12518, which is correct for the 40. The similar-looking rubber hood for the 90mm lens for the CL also fits the 40, but causes vignetting on it because it's a different shape. That's part number 12517.
