This is a new one on me. No idea if it was some kind of a promotional unit, or someone got bored one night. No connection with auction, seller, etc. Just thought it was weird.

Judging by the starting auction price, it seems he thinks he's struck gold.

I was thinking it was aftermarket, but I do note the origional inspection sticker is on the top cover. I'm not too worried either way; the Canonet is just too small and light for my tastes 😀

Hmmmm ... maybe he took the chrome plate off somehow and polished it on a wheel. It doesn't match the lens assembly.

Too bad those photos aren't cleaner.
