Monday is Memorial Day in the U.S. and I didn't want to miss my first thank you to my father, who served in the U.S. Navy's Pacific Fleet during WWII. He doesn't talk much about the war and he hates to have his picture taken, but he and many others deserve a thank you. I also want to thank my mom's brother who was in the radio room when his ship intentionally intercepted a torpedo in order to save a troop carrier. He never made it to the age of nineteen. Everyone perished within minutes. I don't have his photo, but I do know my mother's sorrow. A salute to all veterans. Thank you.
