VF of M3 - how does it look like?

Hi guys,

I play with the thought to get myself a relatively decent M3 from the bay (if it won't turn too pricy).

Could someone of you please lead me to an example photo or scheme of what the look through the M3's VF looks like for at least the 50mm frames, please?

I never had a real Leica in my hands. Hope you can help me.🙂

Keep both eyes open. Imagine that there's a floating frame in front of one of them. Imagine that the floating frame covers the 50mm lens field. That's how the viewfinder of the M3 is.

You can download the original manual here. There are pictures of the finder view with all three framelines (50, 90, 135). It'll give you a pretty good idea of how it is in real life.

Look at page 28 of the MP manual, it's similar to that. The corners of the 50mm framelines are rounded; the 90mm framelines are squared. The 90mm frame does not show if you have a 50mm lens mounted.
