VI-T built like a tank

One of the cameras I've inherited is a Canon VI-T. I have a Canon 35/2.8 mounted on it right now. The more I handle the camera the more I get the impression that this is one tough solid camera. It feels like it's made from a solid chunk of steel.
Is this the normal impression one is supposed to get from these cameras?

I had a similar Canon rangefinder, the Canon P. Yes, they are solid. Hey, it's a quality piece of engineering. No plastic toy. Enjoy it. I'm envious. My old Canon is long gone.

Hi there, your title says it all.The VI-T is a strong design. I tend to use my other Canons more as my tastes don't run to trigger-winds but I 'll not sell it. Just to pretty.

Having owned or handled a bunch of Canon RFs, they are built like tanks and will last, like, forever.
