Video/audio of Contax G2 focus and shutter

This one's the 45mm Planar, and yes, focus is generally very quick. The wides are not retrofocus...it's a rangefinder, not an SLR...but I've never had the 21 or 16. The 28 juts in there pretty good though.

Very cool. It's not an objectionable sound, for sure. I don't classify it as 'noisy.' I prefer it to the original M8 sound. The M9 is something else.

Thank you for uploading this important piece of documentation.

I tried out a G1 the other day, the G2's focus speed is certainly a lot faster.
Though it would be nice if the lens didn't park itself back up at infinity after the shutter click.

I suppose it has to park somewhere. It could park where the last shot was made, or it could park at close focus, or somewhere in between. I suppose it has to know where it is, in order to know where to go...

Well, it doesn't if you only lift your finger to the "half depressed" position or if you keep your finger on the AF button on a G2.

Perhaps, though that is a pain to remember to do each time (though I do suppose you get used to it).

It is odd that an AF mechanism continues to work after the shot has been taken. In my mind that is a little worrying as if you suddenly think you'll try that same shot again, you have to start all over and by then you may have missed it. Not only the fact that it is creating unnecessary noise.

Then again I don't design cameras, there must be a reason.
