I am hoping to use the nex + 35/1.2 to shoot video at a concert. I know I can fit all I can shoot on an SDHC card. The issue is battery life. So, I am interested in knowing how much you fine people can shoot on a charged battery - be it SD or MP4.

Thanks a bunch!
Phil

Others get about 90 min of video per charged battery, but that consists of 3-5 sessions, as the file limitations require you to stop and start every 20-30 minutes.

I'd take 2 extra batteries, or 3.

OK. I ran an experiment with a 2G card last night. and filled 20 minutes using about 30% of my off brand battery. I have a higher capacity one in the mail though.

That was MP4. I wonder if HD uses more or less power....

Well, vor the show I went to, batteries were a non issue. I put in a fresh cell, a 32GB card, and went to town. I used a CV 28/1.9 lens, but given my close proximity, a 25 or 21 might have been better. I left it wide open to preserve frame rate and used peaking for focus. The results were visibly OK. It was the add-on mic that wasn't up to dealing with the intensity of the sound. I realize that it is not due to the mic being lacking, but rather the severe conditions. In any case....

Wow, youtube compresses....

May you found a way to post an excerpt of your video file somewhere to the web to have a look at?
Thanks.

If I can determine how to excerpt, I will do so. Video is new territory for me.
