I would love this for the SD1M but unfortunately I bought the older version a few months back which is an OK lens but certainly not in this league. LINK

I have two of the current 'ART' lenses and I have to say the build quality is phenominal ... if a little heavy!

Funny review. It is a lens I have been looking forward to see some reviews from as I am seriously tempted to buy one (When available) for my D800, I think it will be a great combo.
Thanks for posting this.

Sigma art series has been pushing some of the best lately. The new 50f1.4 looks very good.. I also have the older 50.. But I think the new one is a bit bigger than I like.

The thing I've noticed about the new art lenses is how much better the manual focusing action is. The 50mm f1.4 I have is a shocker in this regard ... it feels doughy and imprecise.

I'm very curious about this lens. I have 3 Canon EF 50mms already. So I'm a little hesitant to buy a fourth, but it appears to be a special piece of kit.

Their previous 50 1.4 was already too big, this one is complete failure. They need to ask Tamron for help :)

I bought the old Sigma 50mm f1.4 shortly after I bought an SDM1. It was very disappointing. I rarely use it. I now have two of the Art lenses: 35mm f1.4 and the 18-35mm f1.8. Both are great but very large. I wish Sigma would make a high quality pancake lens.
