Latest from my blog - a series of photos taken last June at the Vietnam festival by London's South Bank

Maybe I need to get my eyes checked - or perhaps it's the low res files, but the focus doesn't seem to be spot on. Did you use the EVF or Rangefinder?

Maybe it's because the depth of field is almost 'Nocti'? Certainly in a photo where I needed several people in focus, I would stop that lens down to f2.8 at least.

Great shots, I can almost smell the food and I do not see any focus issues, unless focus is not where it was intended.
 
Here and there, there are some focus issues. Not because of the lens, or even I don't think because I focussed on the wrong spot, but because I was shooting quickly in the street at f1.5 with moving objects. It only takes someone to move half an inch between me seeing the shot and the split second it takes to shoot for the focus to be off a small bit.... I'm actually surprised most worked so well considering.

I used the RF - not enough time to use focus peeking

Hey Nick,

Love the shots and nicely captured a bit of the atmosphere. But why choose to shoot at 1.5 on the streets , especially for shots like this ? The light seems bright enough to shoot at 2.8-4 without having to crank the ISO to a point where quality starts to degrade , or slow down the shutter speed to a point where you would have motion blur/ hand shake ...

Nice ... I felt like I was there. :)

As for focus ... the Sonnar is a tricky lens at f1.5 because of focus shift.
