When I first looked into the view window of a iiia I knew it was a small diameter, but I was impressed with the clarity of view and the ability to view the edges of the 50mm view. I can even get a great view with my glasses, which are becoming an increasingly required accessory.

Can anyone tell me how this view compares, subjectively of course, with the more modern LTMs that cluster the focus and view window side by side, such as on the iiif?

I find the window on the IIIa to be a bit more "squinty" than on the later IIIf. However, like the post above I use an accessory viewfinder (the SBOOI) with both my IIIa and IIIf.

I have the IIIa, IIIc, and IIIf and find viewing through the viewfinder to be nearly the same. The only real difference is the distance of the IIIa..
