Good choice to open up the left side. It makes for a more balanced structure. But I think the original tonality in the wall worked better; there was a greater difference between the wall and the horse, which emphasized the artificiality of the horse. Or at least that's how things seem on my monitor!I had a bit of a re-think about the 'Corral' shot above. I decided to not crop out that area on the left, plus I brightened the wall up a little bit - what do you think?

No I’d rather not do that - then the setting/context on the left is completely eliminated. I like the idea of showing a bit of the ‘urban’ setting on the left as a counterbalance to the ‘corral’ that’s in the main body of the shot. How about cropping it more on the left and balancing it out a little on the right?

I can try taking the wall back down in tonality.Good choice to open up the left side. It makes for a more balanced structure. I darkened the wall down and replaced that photo in post #480. Hopefully it's better!Good choice to open up the left side. It makes for a more balanced structure. Yep. Looking North/ Northeast toward the terminus of the Lupe's. The NP is up there. I think the NP straddles the NM/TX border. I like the whole mtn range.....even if a small bit is in TX 😬
I hope you've had a chance to get up there.

Interesting how you can look at a photo you once worked on with fresh eyes. Still not entirely a 'winner' (I suppose the piano is the 'MacGuffin' but there's not really much else happening) but it's better than the first time I looked at it.

Stunning! It seems you're going back into your New Mexico archives and discovering some treasures you overlooked. Thanks for sharing them!

Unfortunately I don’t know when I’ll be back. My return to the AIR got canceled and I don’t think I’ll be able to financially swing it this year. It may possibly be the end of the line.Stunning!
