I'd really like to pick up at least one for posterity's sake, and to perhaps eliminate the downward film slippage in my (new to me) II. I've got a bid in on one, but who knows if it'll be successful.

Although I've bulk loaded with modern cassettes before, I've never actually held on of these older ones in my hand. From photos, I've seen that they use a double gate type of light trap instead of a velvet cloth style.

Can anyone explain how to reload them, or further enlighten me on their use?

I miss the 12 exposure rolls in various emulsions as they were quick to finish and get into the soup. Perhaps splitting 36's in two would bring back that ability.

Hi Jo, once you get the hang of them you'll never go back. They never scratch film and wont wear out like the felt on generic reloadable casettes.

I have quite a few that I don't use, PM me if you like to get some.

Many thanks to all who replied so quickly! Yep, it sounds like this is a process/implement I'd enjoy using. Judging from the info on the links provided, I probably bid too highly on the single & cassette holder offered on the 'bay, they've been kind of pricey lately.

Get dozen casettes, compatible bulk loader and a 30m length of expired.

Film costs really drop, it is best, to load in dark room! Fit cassette into loader, trim the film into shape for cassette switch light off, pull film out of gate of loader push film into cassette spool. clip on loader cover, etc.

This avoids losing the last frame, or having snakes over the floor of darkroom.
