recently acquired a Canon 85/2 LTM (Chrome) from VictorM... beautilfully made lens and the results aren't half bad either...
here are a couple of samples from a test roll.. both shot at f2, Acros100 rated @200... i was able to focus with reasonable accuracy when mounted on a R2A...
please feel free to post portraits shot with your vintage LTM portrait lenses...

Very nice.. From what I have read, the focusing accuracy drops off a bit after 20 feet or so for F/2. But for head shots, I see no problem

Both shots are excellent. I have used vintage lenses extensively for portraits. I had an informal testing done for several LTM/M portrait lenses. Here is the link:

The Canon 85mm lenses are excellent overall. I have the 85mm/1.9.

Nice shots. Play with lighting. It's critical in portraiture.
arbib, wouldn't focus accuracy be more critical at shorter distances where DOF is less? (rather than greater than 20ft.)

Hey, you've already used that lens more than I have! Now, as Frank says, play with light. Window light is a good place to start, especially in a small, preferably white room.

I have managed to get very sharp images at close-up rangewith a wide open Canon 85mm/1.9. I got far more sharp images when using a tripod than without one. Most ofmy photos were taken beside a window. The quality of light is special somehow. Just what Frank and Viktor suggested above.
