".. an increase in sales of the format from 2.8 million units in 2010 to 3.9 million units in 2011.." BTW, the sales figures for 2006 and 2007 were 858.000 and 990.000 respectively...

I remember the years when the vinyl sales bottomed (just tragic quantities)... Now I am more optimistic about the future of film.. 🙂

This is interesting. I would love to listen to vinyl, never have in my life but the music I listen to (mostly soundtracks from movies) I would have no clue if they are available on vinyl.

The best selling album of the year sold 5 million plus in 2011, for just one album. It's a blip compared to all sales, but a huge increase from years ago. I stopped buying vinyl a few years ago... it takes up too much room and I'm not an audiophile. It's cool though... I pull it out sometimes and just sit.

Quality (especially unique quality) endures. I recently had to buy a new amplifier for my stereo set and discovered that vacuum tube amps are big these days and tuners all have an analogue mimic feature....lol! I love it!

Did you know that with the beginning of the '70s the tubes were regarded as extinct? No matter how trends seem to shadow, quality survives...
