Virginia Creeper

I used to do the photography for Prevost who made million dollar coaches. I looked into the cost of operating a motor home of this size and almost had a heart attack. For one thing diesel mileage is terrible plus you almost have to tow a car which makes it really bad. Seems like an oil change was around $700 plus other expensive maintenance. Also don't forget insurance. In the end it was cheaper to stay in really fine bed and breakfasts as aposed to traveling in one of those. Sounded cool but was just too expensive.

Yeah, I hang around with some bus enthusiasts every once in a while, and after watching what they have to do to keep them running, the only good part of the package would be the experience of driving it. This one's been out of use for over two years, so lots of things would need reworking. Maybe convert it to an LP gas turbine with electric drive.

O. Winston Link took his famous "Maud bows to the Virginia Creeper" photo at the Green Cove Station, close to the southeastern terminus of the trail at White Top, VA.

I met O. Winston Link once. He was a super nice guy. I had a #11 flash bulb in my car and asked him to autograph it. His reaction was a laugh but I have a #11 with his signature on it now.

Never got to meet the man, but have seen some videos of interviews and such, and I got that impression too. I'm lucky to live in the town where his museum is located.
