Recently bought a Visoflex II. It seems that the M7 is just a little too high for the magnifier. It fits my M4 just fine, and appears to just fit my M4-P, though here there seems to be a slight interference fit with its speed dial.

It that the experience of others?

Yes I believe the M6TTL and M7 are 2mm taller than the earlier Ms (presumably because of the electronics). I don't know much about the older Leicas but I think the Visoflex was designed for earlier cameras like the M3 and M2.

I have heard that you can use a Viso II with the newer prism assembly from the Viso III on the M6 TTL and M7. I have not tried it. The newer prism assembly is #16499 without the step. I use the Viso III with M6's.

I had same problem. I found a used waist level eyepiece to use. Also for M8, same story. I also found a used Viso III which is on the way here. Should work with the eye level prism on the M7 and M8.

You'll need to get the prism for the Visoflex III. It'll work fine on the II and IIa..
