Well-known
Does any one know much about these cameras? I have not found a lot of information on the web, other than they have a Zeiss tessar 2.8 42 lens and are apeture priority. Are these cameras scale focus or range finders? Are they the size of a GSN or smaller? Any information is appreciated.

Hi!
I don't know exactly about the "SE" but I've got an "AE". This is a scale focus cam with three steps (portrait, group and landscape). The AE has got a Voigtländer Color-Lanthar 2.8/42 (which, according to the parameters seems to be similar to the Zeiss lens of the SE).
It also is aperture controlled and uses hard to get batteries to measure the exposure. (I use some kind of alternative replacement as a battery - well, it works.) The AE uses a Prontor 500 electronic shutter.
As far as size is concerned, it is about as big as a Minolta Hi-Matic F and maybe
a little heavier. The film advance lever is at the bottom.
The most important part is: the pictures are really good!

hi!
sorry to butt in about AE but i have an AE question... my light meter doesn't work, what's the default shutter speed on these things? and also, would you know what that slide lever above the right panel is for? that one that has a small window that would sad 0,1 or 2? hope you can enlighten me about these things.
thanks!

Hi, supertones.
I don't know about the default shutter speed, but if the light meter isn't working, I guess you need new batteries.
As far as I know this slide lever is an exposure correction for deliberate over-exposure (+1 and +2). But I am not absolutely sure. I got this camera as a used bargain.
