Hi, I just bought a Vitessa T, But the shutter wont open. Can some one please tell me how to get to the shutter so I can lightly oil it.. Thanks, Gary... I don't want to screw it up... I bought this for 5 bucks with
3 great lenses and case, very clean. I know it is an easy fix. Any help will be appreciated....:D

It may, or may not, be easy.

The lens is removable. Taking the lens off gives full access to the shutter blades. Flood cleaning with Lighter Fluid, such as Ronsonol and/or 99%pure Isopropyl Alchohol "typically" clears up a gummed shutter.

If that does not work, I suggest sending it in for a "Clean-Lube-Adjust" at a professional shop, such as KEH.com.

Use a few drops at first. Work the shutter mechanism. Let it sit, and retry if necessary. Sometimes the shutter works until the solvent dries. So, re-apply a few more drops.

Let it air out before putting the lens back on.

That's about it. Works about 75% of the time. I've even restored the Double Blades of a Voigtlander Prominent with this techique. It is "Flood Cleaning". But- Don't really "FLOOD it".

I have fixed a couple cameras with stuck shutter blades, just a couple drops of lighter fluid and wait awhile and try again.

Feels good when the fix is so simple. Keep an eye on it, check in a few days. Work the shutter, dry firing before loading it up.

Good Luck-
