Having read quite a few recent threads on 35mm compact fixed-lens RF's, I took my Vivitar 35 ES along for a walk in Boston. I have to say it was a very liberating experience, having nothing but that small camera in my pocket, with a wrist strap and a roll of Tri-X. I have almost forgotten how amazing that 40/1.7 lens is.

Here are some snapshots from the Boston Common and thereabouts:
 
A little bit dim, Brett. I cleaned up the inside of the VF and that helped quite a bit.

Great little cam. I just wished it can be used in full manual mode. Which is why I am lusting after dreilly's 7SII a few posts away.
 
Hard to justify it though. As you pointed out in that thread, it's practically the same camera.
 
I didn't realize the 7sii had a full manual mode.. that does make it a little nicer

but here are a couple shots from the first roll of film I put through my Viv.. a partially restored shipwreck from Lake Michigan, now in a lakefront park in Sheboygan.. in the full-size version of the sign, the text is all legible
 
Nice shots. The lens is probably the sharpest of all the 35mm compact RF's I have used.
 
Nice pics, Ray. After looking at these I think it's time my Konica and I spent some quality time together...

I just got one of these - my father saved it from my sister's garage sale (THANKS DAD!)

Bought a 675 hearing aid battery and shot a roll of HP5+ @ 800. I develop tonight -can't wait!
It really needs the foam replaced - have to find time for that - hope its not so bad as to ruin the roll.

Looks like a nice camera!
 
Very nice photos, Lubitel. In terms of "bang for the buck," this camera/lens is hard to beat.
