I picked up little plastic rangefinder camera from an antique store near Lancaster, Pa. today. It's called a Vogue, by Monarch Mfg. It's really a crude piece of art deco black plastic junk. Looks like it was made late 40 to mid 50's. Came in a little red box that says Vogue Candid Camera. Anyone have a read on the history of this thing?

Hi David,
"Monarch MFG. Co. (Chicago) also spelled Monarck. Plastic novelty cameras-1939. Half frame on 127 rollfilm. Minicam style with horizontal or reflex type bodies. Numerous names: Churchill, Dasco, Fleetwood, Flash Master, Pickwick, Remington, etc. Reflex style $12-20 US Horizontal $$1-10 US." Direct quote from McKeown's 97/98 Camera Guide.
Nice old toy camera, not a RF but still fun. I have several variants.

I don't see any rangefinder on it. Just a viewfinder. Is there a rangefinder?

Dick
