Hi all,

I recently purchased a Voigtländer Ultron 28/2 lens for my CLE and have been blown away by the IQ that the lens produces. However, today I realised that the CLE rangefinder seemed not to focus all the way to infinity, it is very slightly off. Obviously first I thought that I've knocked the RF out of alignment, but on the 40mm Rokkor the RF is just fine.

Not that this actually affects focusing, I haven't noticed any problems. Its just one of those nagging things :)

... sooo ... I'm wondering if there is a problem with the lens? Do I need to get it overhauled or could I possibly adjust it myself. I'm not a qualified mechanic, but have successfully taken apart and reassembled a few lenses to remove fungus and dust... Just wondering.

thanks in advance!

Jani

Sorry randomm...I only take the camera apart enough to change lenses or film and batteries. And while I have used voigtlander 40's on the CLE, my first choice in 28 is leica summicron and second is the rokkor, neither of which had difficulty with infiinity or anything else. Good luck.

Hey, no problem. Besides, I think it is really the lens that's out of alignment. It does not show in photos, I don't think, but would be nice to sort out nevertheless.

If it doesn't show in the photos it isn't worth worrying about. Probably a slight misalignment of the indicator ring on the outside of the lens. 'Recently purchased' is the key phrase. What does the seller say?

Hi, don´t worry 28mm has so much Dof it won´t matter at infinity,

I had the same outfit and the problem was 28 being so wide and cle not having ae lock!
