Ultron 50mm f2 — how to unscrew the front part of the lens?

Hi everyone,
I’m working on disassembling my Ultron 50mm f2 lens due to fungus inside the rear elements, and I’m trying to reach it for cleaning. I’ve already removed the two front lenses and the rear one, but I can’t figure out how to unscrew the front part of the lens barrel to access the affected area.

I saw that user Camerakook successfully managed to do this and reached the fungus by unscrewing the front lens group. If anyone knows the exact steps, tools, or tricks to get this part off, I’d be extremely grateful for your advice!

Also, if you have any tips on avoiding the loss of small parts (like the ball bearing that controls aperture clicks), I’d really appreciate that too.

Thanks in advance for any help!

The prior thread was about the Voigtlander Nokton 50/1.5. For this lens, the entire group unscrewed. The front section also unscrews into two parts.

IF (big if) the Ultron is made the same way: it is possible that the front most section came out, leaving the back of it in place.

I would try using a rubber cork to get a grip on the remaining section. You might need to put some alcohol along the side of the group. There is a chance that Lubricant from the aperture worked into the threads, and ends up acting as "glue".

The lens is constructed the same way as the nokton as the whole front assembly can be unscrewed. If you are trying to gain access to the rear lens element, the back piece of the lens does unscrew as well. Just be sure you mark where the lens was set before you unscrew the rear element

Hi Brian,
I marked with a red line the place where I think the front block should unscrew on the Ultron 50/2. Could you confirm if this is correct?
I also want to mention: I already removed the first two front elements, but in the lower front section there is still another element that seems to be held by a retaining ring, which I was not able to unscrew. Could this be an obstacle for removing the whole front block, or does it still come out together?
Do you think heating the barrel a bit might help if the lubricant has hardened and acts like glue?
Thanks a lot for your advice!

@AirAlex

I have had better luck using a drop of lighter fluid on a q-tip, worked around the threads.

And the front section of my Nokton unscrewed where you drew the red line. And the ball bearing on mine shot across the room, never to be seen again. There is a Spring behind it.
