Voigtlaender 21mm - Image to demonstrate distortion

Sorry if I open another thread - I asked something simmilar some weeks ago...

I am still thinking about buying a Voigtländer 15mm or 21mm lens. I almost think that the 21mm might be better for me, except that at some places you can read that it has more distortion than the 15mm lens.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any picture, where the distortion really was visible. If someone could send me a picture like this, that would help me (and maybe show me that it is not really an issue)

PS: I don't mean converging lines, when the camera is not exactly level - I mean something like barrel distortion.

If you can't find any examples where distortion is visible, it's nothing to be concerned about. Wide RF lenses tend to have VERY little barrel distortion. You could just look on flickr for shots made with this lens and inspect them yourself.

What distorsion? The VC 21f4 is probably second to only the Zeiss C Biogon 21f4.5 for lack of distorsion. It actually beats out lenses like the Elmarit 21f2.8 Asph and the Biogon 21f2.8.
The advice is as usual: go to Flickr and put "Voigtlander Color Skopar 21mm f4.0" in the search tab and look at all the samples there.

Yes, almost distortion free, and if there is any, it won't do any harm to the quality of your picture. I was lucky, got it here in HK for less than HK$1600(US$200), with the 21 finder which is the best companion when using the CV15 on M8!

You are right. If I don't see any problems in those pictures (and I dont), it should be okay ... maybe I should just buy it and take pictures, instead of thinking about potential problems.

Way to go!
I bought a sample that had a scratch in its front lens (the seller had told so)
nevertheless I would have to spend at least an hour to find a photo where this effect shows!
Whatever you buy enjoy it!
21mm is a great lens!

I'm very sensitive to distortion and have never noticed it with this lens.
