Cool! So is it a foregone conclusion that to beat color shift, lenses have to be much bigger than old-school symmetrical lenses?

In the side by side picture of all 3 in the Japanese review it sure looks a lot bigger. Longer mostly, the hood petals of V2 seem to fall at or below the level of the aperture ring of V3. The LTM version is so tiny I don't mind carrying it on trips despite knowing I might only use it for a half dozen shots if that.

yep, will have pics up over the weekend, I hope.
After the Japanese site pics, I was very surprised the new 15 is as small as it is.

Cool! I have quite a few Voitlander lenses and think they are amazing bang for the buck, not to mention offering some focal lengths (12 and 15) Leica doesn't. Early internet disparagement of their build quality has, for me, turned out to be a non-issue. The black finish is indeed rather delicate (something many fans consider an advantage on Lecia's bp bodies, ironically) but glass and mechanics have held up as well for me as any Leica lens, and better than a couple I had come unglued ;) Kudos to Cosina.

The III looks about 30% longer than the II. It probably wouldn't deter me from upgrading from the II if I owned one, but I think for my purposes it makes sense sticking with the LTM version. I would have to debate the need to bring the III on a trip whereas the LTM is so tiny I always pack it along. Unlike a lot of people I've never seen color casts with mine. But typically on a trip I might make half a dozen images with it, so Cornerfix wouldn't be a bother.

Definitely if I used the focal length more I would go for the III though. Looks like a beaut, I bet it sells like hotcakes.

I am wondering whether there could be a m43 market for this lens? It is not optimised for shooting on m43 sensor, I suppose?

Seems to fit very nicely on the Sony pictured above.

On the long side a 75/1.8 and in the middle a 28/2.

Where is that Back Alley guy, I think I have his next kit lined up......

She looks stunning.

Steve Huff's initial mini review is here http://www.stevehuffphoto.com/2015/...-great-on-the-leica-m-240-and-sony-a7-series/

"I have been testing the brand spanking new Voigtlander 15 f/4.5 Version III lens on the Sony A7II and the Leica M 240 and have only good things to report back. The new V3 can now be used on a Leica M without ANY color issues whatsoever. It is a small, sharp, versatile wide-angle for your M that will not set you back $3k+. The new 15 f/4.5 III is $750 with free next day shipping at CameraQuest.com and below are just a few test shots on the Leica M 240 and Sony A7II. I will eventually write a full review of this lens but for now, I have too much on my plate as it is (New Sony 28 f/2, Sony 35 1.4, two cases, new bags, Leica M-P 240 Safari Edition and more). Just wanted to let everyone know this lens is finally good on digital full frame!" Steve Huff

Best,
Stephen
