I'm looking for a wide angle for my a7 - the new 16-35 looks pretty slick in the early reviews but is a little to expensive right out of the gate.

SO, I was looking into the Canon FD 20 2.8 and then remembered that Voigtlander had a small, nifty little 20. I can't seem to find any reviews besides for the a7r. Curious if anyone has considered/used the Voigt 20 on their a7. I would love to get some wide M glass for the a7, as I also have an M3, but these options don't seem to work that great and cost slightly more.

Options I've considered:

Canon FD 20 2.8
Canon FD 20-35 3.5 (slightly more expensive and much larger)
Tokina 20-35 3.5
Voigtlander 20 3.5
Nikon 20 2.8 AIS

I really like the size of the Voigt and Nikon, just not sure of their performance on the a7. The others I have listed are just what I have come up with, any advice or recommendations are certainly welcome. Thanks in advance everyone!

FD 20 2.8 is probably the best bang for your buck, not 100% sure but I wouldn't be surprised if you're getting color shifts in the corners with the Voigtlander 20mm, the CV 21mm does and so does my CV 25mm

there's also the OM 21mm 3.5 which I prefer more than 20 2.8 as it is relatively smaller than the FD

I didn't think the CV 20 3.5 would get color shifts since its an SLR lens. There are some decent prices out there on the FD 20, but the CV is much smaller. IF performance was about the same, I'd take the smaller size probably.

SLR wide lenses work best on the A7. I have bothe the Nikkor 18mm f/3.5 AIS and Elmarit-R 19mm f/2.8 v1. Both do very nicely; the Color-Skopar 21/4 for Leica M mount shows some color shifting and other artifacts.

I'm using a Nikkor 20/3.5 AI with my A7, and it gives great iq, is very compact and balances very well with the body.
