Voigtlander 35/1.4 Nokton -- underrated?

I have mine being shipped to me right now 🙂 it says I should be getting mine about tomorrow. For a student like me, nokton seems like one of the best options.. seriously... It does not feel cheap when the tiny little thing costs more than my month's rent...

It front focuses at 1.4 at times. Probably a user fault than anything else. It's my most used focal length on my RD1s.

Some say the Boke isn't good enough, but I wasn't complaining. ;-)

Wow the boke in the first shot is mental! It's really distracting but I like it.

The 35mm f/1.4 Nokton was my first RF lens. I thought it was great, and only sold it in a fit of buying/selling. In reality, I had no reason to sell it. Small, fast, sharp enough for me, and very nicely built.

I'm looking at the Biogon 25mm f2.8 atm to get a Planar-like sharpness wide open with a 35mm FOV on my M8. I love the sharpness.

However, my 35/1.4 and 50/1.1 Noktons are a soft, smooth, bokeh-tastic duo that are awesome for the look they give, when wanted - stop down to f5.6 or f8 and the 35mm sharpens up beautifully!

Everyone has a look they go for, i feel lucky that i can turn to different primes for their own strengths 🙂
