Voigtlander 35 f/1.2 or Pre ASPH Leica 35 f/1.4

Hope its okay to post this here.

I noticed a couple of older versions of the Leica 35mm Summilux were a few hundred dollars more (on eBay) then a new Voigtlander 35mm 1.2. I have been planning on the Voigtlander but was wondering what you would get and why?

I was also wondering if the Summilux was going to be more versatile.

Depends on how you define versatile. If it means carry around all day like a feather, than yes. But if it means excellent imagery at all apertures, the CV Nokton looks, to my eyes, like the all-around winner.

jmarcus, looking at the lens list in your signature, the 35mm Summilux pre-ASPH won't make you happy ... (If optimum sharpness and - even more - high contrast at full aperture are what you like)... Sure, it is a very small and quite light-weight lens but it's opitical qualities are the opposite from "ASPH" ... I have and like the 35mm Summilux pre-ASPH but I don't like the ASPH lenses from Leica, CV or the Zeiss glass...
