Voigtlander 50mm 1.5 value?

Hi Folks,

I'm in the process of putting up a VC Nokton 50mm 1.5 for sale but I can't place a value on it. eBay auctions seem to be all over the place and I can't see any recent transactions here. Anyone have an idea on what I should price it at?

Last summer I had a Summilux v3 stolen. 3 months ago I bought a used Nokton f1.5/50mm from the classified. This week I developed a roll of film from the nokton that I swear could have been the Summilux.
What's the lens worth?
If you asked me it's worth saving the +$2K difference you might spend on a V3 Summilux 😀

CameraQuest are selling at $799, brand new. If your one is in good condition, maybe start bidding at $500 - $600? Really depends on condition though.

I would not start bidding at $1, you don't get the best price that way, only the best price that people who happen to have seen the auction are willing to pay.

... its value is far more than its cost ... but I've no idea what it should cost

... and as others have said a marvellous lens, probably the best 50 I've ever had barring none

$400.00 to $600.00 used depending on condition and if someone is really looking for a 50/1.5.

I love mine, but there are others who are not going to touch it since it is not a Leica.

You are completely wrong. Auctions started at $1 consistently end higher than those with a high buy-it-now.

If you don't understand eBay, don't give eBay advice.

I don't own a fast modern 50mm lens. Maybe I should get such a lens.
The advice seems to be here to list your lens at $500 or so and let it get higher offers.

I bought a Nokton 1.5 to use n my M3 ntil I could find another Summilux, but after seeing how well the Nokton worked, I decided to hold onto it. It really is a nice lens.
