Well-known
I found one of these old 126 cameras at work and decided to rip the lens out and try to make an M-mount capable lens. Lens is a 38mm /2.8 made to cover a 28x28 frame.
I don't have many pictures yet, but I'll put up a few once the modification is further underway.
Basically, I've torn the camera apart to extract the lens, and then slowly pried and unscrewed the rest of the camera to retain the shutter housing, and the focusing helicoid. The aperture is automatic so I can't really use it. I removed the blades, and the blades for the shutter mechanism. What is left is the lens and the front focusing ring.
Next step is to design an M-mount for the lens, and then figure out how to attach a working cam for the lens.
I love a challenge. 🙂
