I am using BESSAR-R , with several L-mount lens ( 35, 50 and 90mm ). Can anyone advice if it is possible to mount these lens onto a Canon EOS400D ( DSLR ) camera body via adapter ?

Is it possible to use several adapters together or is it possible to customise and make my own adapter to fit these lens onto a EOS body.

😕

You could remove the mirror and rewrite the firmware to give you live preview so that you could see through the lens, but you'd have to focus on the little LCD screen anyway.

Or, you could get one of the two digital rangefinders in M-mount, which the LTM lenses work perfectly with.

As long as your m/ltm-lenses have an outer diameter of less than 54mm, it should be possible. Next problem is that you won't be able to use the finder as you'd have to lock up the mirror whenever using m- or ltm-lenses. Although ironic, Madman's suggestion falls on the fact that CMOS-sensors used in most DSLRs won't allow the continuous read-out necessary for live view on the monitor.

I doubt that there are any adapters available unless someone has machined them out himself and as I said, they'd be pretty useless anyway. A 1Ds with a Leica 21mm? That is what I call an expensive point-and-shoot! 😉

thanks for all the valuable feedback and sharing ... appreciated...

Having read all , I have also tried to figure out a little bit the technical difficulties behind this... yes, I am now enlightened !!!

But, why there is no a simple "glass" adapter that is able to does the light diversion, so that even if the lens should be mounted further away from the CMOS senor ( keep away from the mirror ), and that the glass lens adapter will correct the focus distance back again. based on my collage physics lesons, it is definately technical possible..

Anyway, I will also look into ways to play with the EOS400D firmware, should I have a break thru with this, I could resign from my present job and then start a whole new venture into this...

thanks again for all the information provided.
