Looks like a match made in heaven, but Nikon does make the 50mm f/0.95 Noct—at about five times the price and four times the size of the Voigtlander f/1.0 Nokton. I's certainly pick the Nokon if I was in the market for such a lens.

Except it is a 58mm ;-)

The Z platform is exceptionally adaptable to even the early CV film Voigtländer lenses.
My first generation 12mm is absolutely useable on my Z6ii and I see no real difference when using an adapted Voigtlander 21mm/4.0 v.1 versus a Nikkor 20mm/3.5 Ai.
I don't think the Z system gets the credit it deserves as a platform for adapted lenses. Not that I have tried all, but it is far ahead of anything Sony I have tried, and on par with Leica SL, IMO.

Agreed. The Z platform had few, if any, issues with legacy lenses with "color smearing" or whatever that was -- a significant problem on the Sony A7 cameras and earlier digital Ms.

Oops! Talk about putting foot in mouth… or maybe keyboard in mouth in this case. Sorry!

Why is the adapter called a close-up adapter? Does this mean that regular photos cannot be made?

That adapter has a built in helical.
Turn the adapter for closer focusing, or get infinity at regular position.
Conveniently the adapted lens does not turn as the adapter focuses closer.

'Really like the look of the new Voigtlander lenses, like this 50mm f1, without the distracting chrome ring of previous models.
I have the Voigtlander close-up adapter for Sony mirrorless and it's both well made and very useful. 'Wish they made one for Canon RF camera to Leica M.

This sounds to be very useful. Why isn't there such an adapter for Leica M for close focus?

Raid, if you mean for putting M lenses on M cameras, there is. Leica makes one that came out with the revised 90/4 Macro Elmar during the time of the M240. It's called the Macro Adapter M and has a helical. You have to use it with live view. There is also a set of close-up adapter rings made by Novaflex, which is similar to the rings that came with the BEOON.

The Macro Adapter M is basically an adjustable extension tube that allows close focussing but not infinity focus*.
It’s not the same thing as Voigtlander’s close-focus adapter (which wouldn’t be possible for an M mount lens on an M mount camera due to the lack of physical space).
*You can focus to infinity with the lens collapsed, but this is obviously lens specific.
